Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - Presiden Amerika Serikat Donald Trump mengumumkan kebijakan tarif timbal balik yang lebih tinggi bagi puluhan negara dalam konferensi pers pada 2 April 2025. Kebijakan ini menetapkan bahwa semua negara akan dikenakan tarif setidaknya 10% ke depannya, sementara negara-negara yang dianggap memiliki hambatan tinggi terhadap barang-barang AS akan menghadapi tarif lebih besar.
Dikutip dari Bloomberg, Kamis (3/4/2025), pungutan baru ini bersifat tambahan terhadap tarif yang telah berlaku sebelumnya, termasuk pajak 20% terhadap barang-barang Tiongkok yang terkait dengan fentanil. Selain itu, pengecualian untuk barang-barang jangka pendek juga telah dicabut.
Namun, terdapat beberapa pengecualian dalam kebijakan ini. Kanada dan Meksiko tetap dikenakan tarif yang telah diumumkan sebelumnya. Sementara itu, produk dari sektor utama seperti baja, aluminium, mobil, tembaga, farmasi, semikonduktor, dan kayu tidak termasuk dalam tarif baru ini.
Barang-barang dari sektor tersebut akan dikenakan tarif sesuai ketentuan yang telah atau akan segera ditetapkan oleh presiden.
“Ini adalah deklarasi kemerdekaan kita,” kata Trump di Rose Garden, Gedung Putih dilansir dari Reuters.
